- Pike Creek and Pike Creek Valley
For split-level, colonial, or townhome, the estimate visit works the same way.

Much of Pike Creek Valley was laid out on a master plan covering 1,141 acres in Mill Creek Hundred. The plan set where the roads went, and the subdivisions, condos, and townhomes filled in around it.
We take on bathrooms, kitchens, doors, decks, and finish carpentry in both census places, with each job priced at the house.
Family-Run, Bonded and Working in Pike Creek
Two Census Places, One Pike Creek
Pike Creek is not a town, and it is not part of Hockessin or Newark. It is an unincorporated community in New Castle County, counted by the census as two places: Pike Creek and, next to it, Pike Creek Valley. Carousel Park, Middle Run Natural Area, and White Clay Creek State Park are its landmarks, and Limestone Road (DE 7) runs north into it from Stanton.
| Place | What it is | The houses there |
|---|---|---|
| Pike Creek | Census-designated place, New Castle County | Colonial-inspired split-levels and single-family houses with attached garages, on lots of a quarter acre to a half acre |
| Pike Creek Valley | Neighboring census-designated place in Mill Creek Hundred | Subdivisions built from the late 1960s through the 1990s |
| The condo and townhome communities | Across the Pike Creek area | Brick condominiums and traditional-style townhomes from the 1970s |
A 1969 amendment to the plan set aside open space, including land for a golf course, and in 1970 the owners drew up a tentative plan that developers handed to buyers.
Three Kinds of Pike Creek House
Split-levels from the first subdivisions
In a split-level, the bedrooms are a short flight up from the kitchen and living room, and the lower level sits beside the garage. With every floor a few steps from the next, a remodel on one level is never far from the others, so dust and noise are expected throughout the house, not just in the room being worked on.
Brick condos and townhomes
Pike Creek's brick condominiums and the traditional-style townhomes beside them stand in rows, sharing walls with the units on either side. Some of the townhomes are split-levels as well, with the same short flights between floors.
Later Pike Creek Valley houses
The later subdivisions filled in with two-story colonials, and a yard behind the house leaves room for a deck, and a pressure-treated one added off the back door has taken years of weather by now.
deck repairBefore a Pike Creek Job Is Priced
New Castle County handles permits here, and whether your job needs one is determined in the estimate before a start date is set.
Not every call is a remodel. A single small task, like a smoke detector or a lock, is a $100 service call plus $25 for every 15 minutes of work.
Basement finishing, turning raw space into rooms, is not part of our work.
Our painting stops at kitchen cabinets and basement or porch floors; walls, ceilings, trim and siding go to a painter.
House roofs and gutters are outside what we do.
When the Association Wants to See the Plan
In a condo or townhome community, the order runs a little differently. Call or text with the unit and room, and Jimmy will price an evening visit. If the association wants to see what is planned, the written price lists the work and can go straight to it, and the start date waits on the association's answer. For a house of your own, the visit is booked the same way, without that step.
Jimmy prices every project in person at your home, never from a photo or a text. Project estimates are free and are usually scheduled in the evening.
Our work carries a one-year workmanship warranty, dated from the day the job is finished.
First Things Pike Creek Owners Want to Know
Yes, on the part that belongs to your unit: its boards, railings, and posts. Stairs you share with the next unit are not yours alone to change, so that part is left out of the job unless the owners who share it agree.
Yes: inside the home, plus a deck or porch that belongs to your unit. Shared roofs and the building's outside walls are not work we do.
You may well be. Pike Creek homes can carry a Wilmington mailing address, such as 19808, so the city on the envelope doesn't settle it. We work across Pike Creek and Pike Creek Valley either way.
Where there is a wall to fasten to, it can. Jimmy checks for studs or blocking behind the drywall at the visit, and a second rail is something he goes over there.
Yes. A barn door in place of a bifold is a swap we take on: the track mounts on blocking above the opening, and the door is sized to cover the opening with a little to spare on each side, so the closet edges don't show when it's closed.
The side door goes in as a new pre-hung unit. Where only the foot of the old jamb is soft, and the door itself is sound, a jamb repair may be enough, and Jimmy tells you which at the visit.
